UPDATE 2/05/2026: We're shipping again after the long wait for battery cases. 😮💨 Frustratingly, the Molicel P50B we use were out of stock everywhere for a few months due to an issue at the Molicel factory in Taiwan. However, three new cells were released in the meantime that are at least as good as the P50B, and according to Mooch tests may be better - the Ampace JP50P1, Eve 50Pl, and Reliance RS50. It's so cool that L-Ion manufacturers are quick to release incrementally better cells. We tried all of these and, as far as we can tell, they're all great and yield almost identical range and performance on the Chimera. We've got some Ampace JP50 batteries that actually seem to have less voltage sag. So a few of y'all are getting those (slightly) better Ampace batteries. We'll see if we want to stick with Ampace moving forward, and we'll be happy to get your feedback. Either way, y'all are getting the best battery cells we can get our hands on. Note: the dates below get updated tomorrow. So don't freak when you don't see a date next to your order number. We're on it. Just want to give you the most accurate date we can. 

Thanks again for your patience. Making bikes one at a time using small runs of custom parts takes forever. Fortunately, we're scaling up. The bikes purchased towards the middle of this year won't be made one at a time here in the U.S. Instead, most assembly will occur in Taiwan, and then we'll be handling quality control/dialing-in the product here. That means much lower lead times and a capacity for higher volumes. But it also means that a decade from now these Made-in-the-USA first editions may be collector's items. Ultimately, though, all I care about is that these first editions are perfect. - Austin
